GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS:
The Board of Education establishes the following requirements for the satisfactory completion of the high school program of study and for the granting of the high school diploma of graduation. The student will:
- Successfully complete a minimum of 230 semester credits. (To be applied toward the completion of this requirement, any credit taken outside of the regular high school program while attending a district comprehensive high school must be approved in advance by the principal or his designee and by the parent/guardian and must relate to identified goals of the student.)
- No more than twenty of these elective credits may be earned in service based courses. The 20 credits which may be accumulated from grades11-12 are office, classroom and library aides. This excludes home study. Such courses shall be periodically reviewed and designated by the Deputy Superintendent, Educational Services, to meet this requirement.
- Demonstrate proficiency in writing, mathematics, and reading according to District proficiency standards.
- Effective with the graduating class of 2006, students must pass the High School Exit Exam.
- Maintain an acceptable level of citizenship during the period of high school enrollment up to and including the final graduation ceremony.
- Transfer students must meet all requirements of High school graduation established by the State of California. Transfer students who had met the requirements of their former districts prior to enrollment will be required to meet only those requirements of the District which may be expected in the time remaining in the normal four-year of attendance.
- Successfully complete the specific requirements as indicated below:

Every 6 years, El Dorado is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The last accreditation was during the 2005-2006 school year. Our 2005-2006 WASC report can be found HERE.
At that time, El Dorado received a 6 year accreditation with a “mid-term review” at the 3 year mark. Therefore, we will be working on our mid-term review and visit during the 2008-2009 school year. Stay tuned for more information!
Enrollment is done at the El Dorado school office.
Documents to Bring:
*Immunization Chart
* Birth certificate, baptismal certificate, or passport to provide proof of age.
* Proof of residence (current gas or electric bill, rental agreement, escrow papers).
* Medical records.
Special Education and GATE:
Those students who have been in a special program, e.g., gifted and talented program, special education classes/programs, etc. should provide documentation of the program assignment. Students in special education classes should bring a copy of their most recent IEP; students in a GATE class/program should bring verification of placement.

Students, please don’t forget that it is your responsibility to pick up a summer school registration packet if you need to make up a class. If you are not sure, check with your counselor. Packets are available on the counter in Counseling. The deadline to return your registration form back to Counseling is May 14th.
