Fill out the form by Wednesday 1/20 in prepartation for our Socratic Seminar Thursday in class.
Consider using multiple sources to research, from 2 different sides (consider American news sources and international news sources if you choose). Remember, every source will likely have a bias. It is your job to read critically, detect the bias and formulate your thoughts based on the information present (or question why some information is not presented perhaps...=)
Have fun with this! There are seirous issues going on throughout America and the world. Let's critically read these situations and connect them to what we have read this year, make our novels seem much more contemporary. Re-read my instructions in the slides below if you need encouragement.
Research ideas: Be aware that every source will contain a bias. It will be your job to identify the bias and interpret the evidence. Suggestions: Associated Press, New York Post, Reuters, The Hill, PBS, Business Insider are often some of the most moderate, but not always. Any credible news sources are acceptable.
