**PINK OUT – Hawks, as you are aware, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and last year we make pink the new gold. If you don’t have your pink gold-blooded shirt, they are now available in the Activities Office for $10.00. Get yours so you are ready for next Friday’s pink out football game against Esperanza. Mr. Campuzano
**FLAG COMPETITION – The class flag competition will go on until October 20th. Submit your design to the Activities Office. Submissions are highly encouraged. Don’t miss out on this chance to leave your legacy Hawks.

STRESS MANAGEMENT CLUB – There is a meeting Friday in Room 208 at lunch. Ms. Petitt
FRENCH CLUB – Our first meeting is October 16th. We are electing two officers. Mrs. Lovering
FRIDAY WORKOUT – This Friday, wear your workout clothes to school and RUN to all your classes, as we recognize our cross country team who are competing at the OC Championships later that afternoon. Grab a classmate, get a workout in between classes and say good luck to one of our cross country athletes! Mr. Campuzano
ATTENTION THOSE REGISTERED FOR THE PSAT – The PSAT is this Saturday, October 14th at EDHS. Make sure to arrive by 7:45 a.m. to find your room assignments posted on the front gate. Keep in mind that there will be road closures due to the Heritage Day Parade so give yourself plenty of time to be on time. The exam should be finished by 11:30 a.m. Good luck! Ms. Armstrong
COMEDY SPORTZ – The first half of the Comedy Sportz Belle Match will be held TONIGHT at 7:00 p.m. at Valencia. Come out to the VHS auditorium and cheer our Hawks on to victory! Tickets are $5.00 at the door.

GIRLS SOCCER TRYOUTS – On Tuesday, October 17th we will be holding tryouts for athletes who are currently in Fall sports or were unable to tryout last Summer. Please plan on making at least one of the two tryout times at either 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. on the lower grass field and/or 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the lower grass field. Coach Thomas
HAWK UNIVERSITY – For students who have questions or simply need help with any of their college applications please come to Hawk University hosted by the counselors. It is offered in the Career Center on Monday, October 16th at 7:30 a.m. or Tuesday October 17th at 3:00 p.m. Mrs. Hamilton
HOMECOMING – The Homecoming Dance is October 28th. Ticket prices are as follows: October 4 – 13 are $35.00 with ASB and $40.00 without ASB and all guests. October 16 – 27 are $40.00 with ASB and $45.00 without AST and all guests. Mrs. Zaldin
ASIAN PACIFIC YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROJECT – The annual Asian Pacific Youth Leadership Project conference provides a select group of 50 juniors and seniors throughout California with a unique leadership opportunity in Sacramento. At this conference, students will learn more about themselves, issues of importance to their communities, and how to empower their leadership potential through the political process, public service, and community service. There is no cost to students accepted to this prestigious conference. For more information and/or to apply, visit the EDHS Career Center or go to www.apylp.org. Applications are due by October 25th.

OUT OF STATE COLLEGE FAIR – Seniors! If you are considering attending an “out of state” school, you should be attending the Out of State College Fair on October 13th.
