PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

ALL STUDENTS
MR. ELDO – On Saturday, March 23rd we will be hosting Mr. ELDO in the PAC. Get ready for this competition between 10 senior boys to see who will win the title of Mr. ELDO. The proceeds from this night will go to the charity of the winner’s choice. So come to support an amazing cause. Doors open at 6:00 and the show starts at 6:30 p.m.

PIE DAY – Thursday is Pie Day, so bring your own plate and come down to the theatron at lunch for a slice of pie!

ST. PATRICK’S DAY – St. Patrick’s Day is Sunday so add green to your black and gold on Friday!

YEARBOOK – Do you enjoy working behind the scenes? Would you like to work with nice photography equipment? Are you a fan of making deadlines and stressing over font choices? Come to Room 905 to pick up an application for the class. We are a small group, we get to know almost everyone in the school, and the class fulfills a Fine Arts credit.

FCA HUDDLE – There is a FCA huddle Thursday at lunch in the Joe Raya Gym. Come hear our speaker and get free pizza. Everyone is welcome. Mr. Campuzano
CERAMICS FOR SALE – TODAY in the theatron at lunch the El Dorado ceramics program will be selling Mustache Mike’s Italian Ice! For $10.00 you get a handmade ceramic bowl and a delicious scoop of Mustache Mike’s Italian Ice. All proceeds help to send the Advanced Ceramics students to a wood-fired pottery workshop. Hope to see you there.

ATTENTION JUNIOR GIRLS – The Distinguished Young Women Scholarship is looking for junior girls who are involved in school and/or community activities, outstanding in academics, leadership, athletics, or the arts. NONSENSE IN THE NEST – Last year’s class champion, the class of 2021 is looking to repeat at this year’s night time class competition assembly. Who will be the winner? You decide. Get your nonsense shirt and join the rest of your class in the gym on Friday, April 5th to help your class earn points and have fun. Mr. Campuzano
MARCH MADNESS – Our annual 2 v 2 March Madness basketball tournament has begun. Enjoy your lunch and watch as Golden Hawks compete in two brackets to see who will be crowned champion. Games are in the Joe Raya Gym every day at lunch during the month of March. Mr. Campuzano
SADIES – Sadies 2019 is March 30th from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. Tickets this week are $16.00 with ASB and $19.00 without. Mr. Campuzano
COMMUNITY SERVICE – The REACH Foundation is hosting the ShamRock ’n Run on March 17th. Volunteer hours are available from 5:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. To sign up go to 4pylusd.org click on volunteers, high school community service. Snacks and a free t-shirts will be provided. Mr. Dupont

BOOK DRIVE – There is a School Book Drive on TODAY through the 15th, sponsored by the Literary Advocacy Club. Bring new or slightly used books for toddlers to young adults to the donation box in front of the Attendance Office. Books will be donated to HIS House. Ms. Stark

IT’S SCHOLARSHIP SEASON – The local scholarship opportunities are growing. Be sure to check out the scholarship bulletin on the counseling website or in the Career Center. Scholarships that will go to a PYLUSD senior include: Yorba Linda Woman’s Club, Placentia Rotary, Yorba Linda Chamber of Commerce, Yorba Linda Senior Citizens, Placentia Round Table, Association of Placentia Linda Educators, and still more to come! Current scholarships that will only be awarded to EDHS seniors include: Ex-Men for seniors in our band program, Ray Ernst El Dorado Golden Hawk, Connie Grosse, Class of ’85 Golden Hearts, the Chris Weisz and Bob Benson Memorial Scholarships for seniors in our aquatics programs, Mike Oberle Memorial Scholarship, Patricia Hayes Community Service Scholarship, and more to come!
