Today Thursday you will be doing another activity flipping pennies. This time you are flipping for alleles in 17 traits. You will draw a face combining the alleles together. If you finish the face and the questions you may turn it into the basket today. If not, it will be due on Tuesday the 12th. DO NOT turn it in on on Friday. Remember behave for the substitute, if your name is written down for a negative reason you will receive an AUTOMATIC 4 hour Saturday with ME!!!!!! Please be GOOD!!!!!!!

The activity today is another bean lab involving the probability of colors of flowers. This lab should be completed by the end of the period and is worth 31 points.

Today we will do a lab with pennies doing a probability lab of sex determination. Please remember labs are always due either at the end of the period or the following day.

Today we will be working together as a class on Punnett Square problems. you will be given a paper with the squares drawn out for you and you are required to fill them in as we complete them together in class. Every problem you copy and complete you will receive points for. Please remember to pay attention as we do the problems. The entire problem sheet will be due at the end of the period on Friday, it will be worth 50 points.

Ok I am sure Punnett squares are not your favorite activity but the extra credit opportunity is.... Do your best to complete the problems left over and turn them in anytime between now and Monday. Have a great Wednesday.

Today you got your chapter 4 test back and received the packet, power point, new calender and study guide for chapter 5. Get a head start on it so you will be able to use your study guide on your test.

Today is our last lab for extracting DNA. We will be extracting your DNA out of your cheek cells. Super cool..... It will be due at the end of the period so don't forget to turn it in.

Happy Sunday to you if you happen to read my blog. As you probably already know, I am a huge animal lover. Raise a squirrel, rescued 100's of ferrel cats, placed many dogs and love having my yard a safe haven for insects, amphibians and reptiles.

If you happen to come across a preying mantis, frog, salamander, or lizards (NO SNAKES) that need a home, I would love to provide them with a fabulous environment, safe and plenty of food. Bring them to me and you will receive extra credit. I will not accept pets just wild animals caught by you.

Today you started a Cell Cycle, Mitosis lab using micro-viewers and brochures with slides. You will have the class time tomorrow to finish up the drawings and the questions. It will be due at the end of the period Friday October 18th. Happy Thursday

Remember that your Chapter 3 packet, worth 180 points is due at the end of the period on Monday Oct. 14th. You will have the entire class period to complete this packet. You will be finishing the diffusion lab, observing iodine and starch solution. This lab, including the questions answered, will be due at the end of the period on Friday Oct. 11th. In the last 3 days we have been in thelab observing osmosis. When you come in tomorrow be sure that you have turned in both the potato/onion osmosis lab and the gummy bear osmosis lab. We will do a third lab on diffusion tomorrow.

Thursday you ran an electron probability activity and we had to p lot out electrons with 50 tosses of a dice. This activity included an atom drawing and a bar graph of your results. It is going to be due during the period on Friday the 4th of October. The lab is worth 55 points. Happy Friday

Chapter 2 Cell observation lab. Wednesday and Thursday you will be working in the lab, observing 3 different cells. each cell needs to be drawn, labeled and colored appropriately by advise of your teach, ME!. Please remember to turn in your completed work on Friday in the basket at the beginning of the class period.

Friday you will be introduced to the microscope and performing an introductory activity getting to know how to use this tool. You will have some questions to complete and a small activity to carry out, getting you used to the different parts and knobs on a microscope. Remember, when ever the class does a lab activity it is always due the next day in the basket. Don't forget to put your name on it. CHEERS!!!
