All  of my Spanish 2 classes will be working on "country reports" this week. Students will choose a Spanish speaking country and create a presentation that will be shared during the scheduled "midterm" period. This is in place of a formal, written test. There will not be an additional exam.  Absent students: Please read the attached requirements and rubric. This is an in-class project, but if you are absent it becomes homework. 

Today we concluded our study of Chapter 3B. Students reviewed vocabulary terms and grammar concepts. Absent students: Please use the attached power point presentation to review affirmative commands. Write down each verb in command form on a separate piece of paper. Thanks! 

Today was a review of Chapter 3B grammar and vocabulary. We reviewed affirmative commands, direct object pronouns, and irregular preterite verbs. Students completed activities in the textbook and also completed a practice worksheet. Absent students: Please complete the attached worksheet to review Chapter 3B. 

Today students learned how to use direct object pronouns with affirmative commands. They completed a worksheet and an activity in the Realidades 2 textbook to practice both of these concepts. Absent students: Please complete "actividad 12" on page 166 of the Realidades 2 textbook. Write your answers on a piece of notebook paper. Then, use the information on page 168 of the textbook to help you complete the attached worksheet. 

Today all Spanish 2 classes began Chapter 3B. Students translated the new vocabulary terms and also learned how to use "affirmative commands" in Spanish. Absent students: I've attached your new list; please translate all of the terms to English. Then, used the attached power point to take notes and practice "affirmative commands". 

Today was a comprehensive review of Chapter 3A that included direct object pronouns and irregular preterite conjugations. Absent students: Please complete the fill in the blank activities in the attached power point presentations. 

Today we practice irregular "preterite" verbs and direct object pronouns. Absent students: Please pick up the practice worksheet when you return to school to earn participation points back. 

Today students learned how to use "direct object pronouns" in Spanish. We took notes and completed a fill in the blank activity to practice pronoun placement. Absent students: Please take notes or print out the attached power point. Then, complete the fill in the blank power point and please use complete sentences. 

Today was the Chapter 2B grammar and vocabulary quiz. Students translated Chapter 3A vocabulary after completing the quiz. Absent students: Please schedule a time to make up the quiz when you return to school to receive credit. I've also attached the new vocabulary list. 

Today was the last day of review of Chapter 2B concepts. No new material was taught. Students completed a vocabulary and grammar "organizer" and worked with partners to also complete a review crossword. Absent students: You are still required to take tomorrow's Quiz. 

Today we continued to wrap up our review of Chapter 2B grammar and vocabulary concepts. Students conjugated irregular verbs in the "Preterite" tense, and wrote 8-10 sentences about their "worst day ever". Absent students: Please complete the attached written activity to review for the Chapter Test. 

Today we reviewed Chapter 2B concepts to prepare for next week's quiz. Concepts reviewed included regular and irregular "preterite" verbs and demonstrative adjectives. Absent students: Use the attached power point and conjugate the verbs in parenthesis. 

Today we learned the last 3 irregular "Preterite" verbs: decir, traer, and dar. Students wrote sentences with all 3 verbs, and also completed a fill in the blank review of conjugating non irregular verbs in the "Preterite". Absent students: Use the attached power point to copy down the verb charts for "decir, traer, and dar". Then, complete the fill in the blank power point to practice conjugation. 

Today all classes will be participating in an "hour of code". Students will be using the website www.code.org to practice basic java script. Absent students: You don't need to make up this assignment. 

Today we added another type of "demonstrative adjective" to our knowledge and also reviewed the other types (this, these, that, those). Absent students: We completed a practice worksheet you can pick up when you return to class, but please complete the attached fill in the blank power point from home if possible. 

Today we practiced using "demonstrative adjectives" to indicate possession using new grammar and clothing vocabulary. Absent students: Please take notes from the attached presentation, and complete the practice activity. 

Today we focused on conjugating irregular "Preterite" verbs. Students took notes on 7 new irregular verbs and completed a practice worksheet. Absent students: Please use the attached power point and copy down the first 7 verbs charts (stop after "servir"). Then, complete the attached worksheet. 

Today and tomorrow we'll be learning a new grammatical tense known as the "Preterite". I've attached the notes for both days. Students also completed "Gracias por el regalo" on page 110 of the Realidades 2 textbook. 

Today students completed a "web search" to find the best "cyber Monday" deals and write about them using Chapter 2B vocabulary. Absent students: The prompt and requirements for this activity are included in the attached power point presentation. Please complete the web search independently and email me if you have questions. 

Today we practiced responding to a variety of questions using Chapter 2B vocabulary. Absent students: Please pick up the practice worksheet when you return to class. Gracias. 

Today was the Chapter 2A Quiz. After the quiz, students translated the words from the Chapter 2B vocabulary list. Then, we watched the Videohistoria "Buscando una ganga" and responded to the follow up questions. Absent students: Please read the text on pages 104-105 of your textbook and respond to the questions in "Actividad 3" on page 105 using complete sentences. When you return to school, please schedule a day and time to make up the Chapter 2A quiz. 

Today we finished the review of Chapter 2A. Students practiced writing negative sentences using reflexive verbs in the present tense, and also completed a crossword puzzle. Absent students: You are still required to take tomorrow's quiz, even if you are absent the day before (refer to my syllabus for further clarification). 

Today we reviewed the worksheet students completed with yesterday's substitute. Students also read an article about sleeping patterns and responded to true/false statements. 
Absent students: Please read the article "Quiero dormir mas" on page 83 of the textbook and respond to the corresponding questions below. 

Today we practiced incorporating the use of multiple reflexive verbs in the same sentence. We also wrote about our daily routines. Absent students: Please take notes from the last section of the attached power point presentation ("Verbos reflexivos con 2 verbos"). 

Today we learned how to form adverbs in Spanish, and incorporated frequency words into our daily routines. Absent students: Please review and take notes from the attached power point. Then, complete the fill in the blank activity on the last slide. 

Today we continued to practice writing and talking about our daily routines, and also reviewed the uses of "ser" and "estar". Absent students: Please complete "Actividad 19" on page 86 of the Realidades 2 textbook. 

Today students practiced the different uses of the verbs "ser" and "estar". Today we practiced talking about our daily routines and grooming. Absent students: Please complete "Actividad 6 y 7" on page 79 of the Realidades 2 textbook. Use your reflexive verb notes.

Today we continued to practice making comparisons, and also reviewed "hace + time expressions". Absent students: Please view the attached presentation and write grammatically correct equal and unequal comparisons of the subjects represented by the images. 

Today we practiced all types of comparisons: equal and unequal. Absent students: Please review the "gramática" chart on page 53 of the Realidades textbook. Then, complete "actividad 10" and "actividad 11" in your notebook or on a separate sheet of paper to submit. 

Today we reviewed "hace + time expressions" and also learned how to express equal and unequal comparisons. Absent students: Please complete the back of Monday's worksheet to review "hace + time expressions". Also, please take notes from the attached presentation and complete the required activities (translating sentences). 

Today we learned to ask and express how long we have been participating in extracurricular activities. Absent students: Please take notes from the attached power point, and use the information on the last slide to create questions and responses using the 2 formulas. 

Today we continued to practice differentiating between the verbs "to know" (saber y conocer). Absent students: Fill in the blanks of the attached activities with the correct forms of "saber" and "conocer". Gracias.
