Yesterday and today's lessons are culturally relevant and interactive. Students have been learning about how families in Mexico celebrate the holidays, and comparing these customs with their own. We have engaged in small group and class discussions, and have also completed listening comprehension activities. Absent students: If you have been unable to attend class, you will be excused from classwork for Wednesday through Friday of this week. Today students continued to use reflexive verbs to talk about daily routines. We specifically focused on placement options for the reflexive pronouns. Today we practiced differentiating between the use of reflexive and non-reflexive verbs. Students wrote complete sentences in Spanish using Chapter 2A vocabulary. Today all students will be participating in the game "Jeopardia en español". Students will answer questions pertaining to Chapter 1B vocabulary and grammar concepts in the Jeopardy format. They will also be competing for points. This is a comprehensive review for Tuesday's quiz. Absent students:  This is an interactive lesson that can't be completed at home. Please complete the following activities from the Realidades 2 textbook if you would like to receive participation points for today:

Today students reviewed forming equal and unequal comparisons in the target language. Then, they took notes to learn the proper way to express how long they have participated in extracurricular activities. Absent students: Using the "comparaciones " power point, write a sentence using the information provided for each slide (don't forget to use your notes). Then, please take notes from the second power point. The notes are on slide 2. Then, please pick two options from slide 3 and use the notes to write 2 questions and responses.

 Today students learned briefly about the history and culture of Perú, which relates directly to our class book. We read Chapter 5 of "Los Baker Van a Perú" and students responded to reading comprehension questions in Spanish. After that, students completed a review of the uses of "saber" and "conocer". Absent students: Please print / or copy the questions in the attached activity and fill in the blanks with "sabes" or "conoces" based on the notes from Friday 10/13.

Today all students played a verb conjugation game called "La Batalla Naval" (Battleship). Students conjugate verbs to create a grid and place their "ships" strategically.
