Course Description

Dear parents/guardians and students, 


¡Bienvenidos! Welcome to my Spanish class! I am Señorita Urrea Castro, and I am pleased to welcome you to my class for the 2025-2026 school year. I am excited and looking forward to beginning this new school year and helping you in the journey to acquire Spanish. Below you  will find class expectations, procedures  and policies along with other important class information. Please take a moment  to carefully review the syllabus. Course Description :  This class focuses on continuing to support students’ acquisition of the Spanish Language by developing the intermediate level concepts and structures of the language in order to be able to have conversations, write paragraphs and read stories and novels while collaborating with peers in Spanish. Students will also learn about and experience Latin American and Hispanic cultures and traditions in order to compete in today’s global community. More importantly, students will continue acquiring the target language while developing language and communication skills that will be useful both within the Spanish classroom as well as the outside world. 


Course Objectives:

This course stresses the usage of appropriate Spanish and enables the student in the following areas:

  • To further develop speaking and listening skills learned in Spanish I and II.
  • To further build writing using appropriate Spanish grammar(different verb tenses, adjectives, nouns, adverbs, etc.) at a basic/intermediate level in a variety of new settings.
  • To further build reading and comprehension skills of elementary/intermediate Spanish.
  • To continue the exposure and understanding  to Latin American and Hispanic cultures along with their traditions, values, celebrations and more as started in Spanish I and Spanish II
