Look over the criteria and requirements of the project and choose your medium: Art, Prose, Poetry or Film.

This will be another handwritten essay, but you may prepare any quotes and pre-writing on the blank page below the prompt. 

Prepare answers with quotations from the novel to share in the whole class Socratic Seminar on Thursday. 

There will be a quiz with questions from this study guide on Tuesday, 12/20. 

Your quiz for Chapter 7-12 will be on next Tuesday, 12/12. It will be open book and it will be based on these questions on the 3x3x3.

Use the 3x3x3 worksheet posted last week to prepare- the questions will be pulled directly from this handout. 

I will have you submit your writing on Turitin.com on the 8th of December.

The second half of your final for the first unit is to write and illustrate your own Epic Heroes Journey. 
Use the slide show to complete your writing on and to add your found or self created illustrations to.

Tomorrow you will write your mini essay outline. 
Thursday, you will handwrite your final essay draft for the Epic Heroes Unit. 

We will work on this doc for the next month or so.

We will be having group and whole class discussions based on the excerpts from Lord of the Rings, Beowulf, and British History and legends.

Logon to your Clever account. Click on Study Sync. Click on the Four balls image to Launch (get to) the assignments. 
(Make sure you are clicking the image and not the text or else it wont open correctly). 

Once you have completed the Lord of the Rings assignment on Study Sync, click Mark as Done on here.

Go back to your self created Quizlet Set (please make sure your have enrolled in the Quizlet Class as well-link to join is attached below) from Monday and take the Test with the words until you score a 90% or higher. Mark as Done here once you have.

Go to your clever account.  Open the Study Sync tab and begin:

You will be writing a Research Paper.
Before Tuesday, Choose a topic to research and write a 3-5 page essay on. 
Step 1: Highlight the topic, or write it in and highlight it, if you choose a topic from the European Middle Ages to research that is not already on the list. 
Step 2: Begin researching on Tuesday 9/19 when we are in the library with Mrs. Nolasco, who will guide your research. 
Step 3: Use the "research findings and pre-writing" blank doc for all of your brainstorming, sources, citations, and direct quotes-have all sources by end of Thursday, 9/21. 
Step 4: Use the "research paper" blank doc to complete all of your writing for you final Research Paper on. 
You rough draft with accurate sources and citations will be due Thursday. 
-First Drafts will be due on Tuesday 9/26,  next week.
*Pre-writing (with all MLA citations and quotations from texts for paper) will be worth 50 points- 10 points per each source.
*Your essay will be worth 100 points. 150 total.

Today you will begin writing your personal statement.

Step 2: Use the blank Google Doc. attached to create your own business letter to a Disney character or your favorite childhood fictional character from a story, movie, cartoon, anime, etc... 
Step 3: Turn in both with finished.
