Your new groups are composed of members from three different departments within the President’s cabinet. Your task is to address a question asked of you by the President based on your issue. Questions are listed below:
Russia-Ukraine War: Mention Immense suffering, displacement and/or geopolitical tensions
US-China Tensions: Tech Trade, Taiwan, Geopolitical Influence, Potential Cold War What should our relationship with China look like right now? (Should we be allies? Enemies? How do we maintain diplomatic relations with them despite some of the issues the US & China disagree on? Do we want to continue diplomatic relations with China at all?)
Race Relations: What is the current state of race relations within the US? What can be done to improve race relations and promote racial equality within the US? (Include current areas of concern & propose solutions).
Middle East Conflicts: Israel-Palestinian Conflict, Syrian Civil War, and/or Yemen's Civil War
Climate Change: Extreme Weather, Sea level rise, biodiversity loss, existential threat What is the current state of our climate? What effects is it having on Americans? What actions can the U.S. take to improve climate conditions?
Global Food Insecurity: Wars, Droughts, Supply Chain issues contributed to rising hunger & potential famine
In your groups, please compose a proposition to the President that suggests a course of action that she should take regarding this issue. Your Proposition:
• Should include areas of concern from your research
• Should include possible solutions from your research
• Should include your recommendations as to how to take action on the problems addressed
• Should reflect contributions from each department
