The Orange County Academic Decathlon (OCAD) allows high school students to compete as team members in a series of academic tests and demonstrations. OCAD is a ten-event academic competition and a team competition as well as one for individuals. Participants demonstrate their academic strength by completing seven written tests (Art, Economics, Language & Literature, Mathematics, Music, Science, Social Science), writing an essay, delivering a prepared and an impromptu speech, and participating in an interview. The exciting Super Quiz oral relay is a team event held before a live audience.
Each team consist of three “A” (honor), three “B” (scholastic), and three “C or below” (varsity) students. Awards are presented to the top teams as well as the top individual students in each event. The highest scoring team represents Orange County at the California Academic Decathlon competition.
Academic Decathlon is the ultimate college preparation experience.
Any students interested in joining the Academic Decathlon Team should contact Mrs. Amann AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
