We will officially finish Beowulf with a final on Wednesday! We are reviewing Mon. and Tues. for the final. On Thursday, we will introduce the essay topic, and give some class time to work on it. The essay will be due next Wednesday (10/21), and should be typed in MLA format. The next unit is Canterbury Tales.

We will finish reading Beowulf this week. The sections we are focusing on are Grendel's Mother and Beowulf's Last Battle. The only homework will be finishing study guides started in class. The final will most likely be Wednesday, Oct. 14th.

We will continue with Beowulf this week, focusing on the sections of "Beowulf" and "The Battle with Grendel." Homework will mainly be finishing worksheets started in class. 

We are finishing up the post high school unit with a application essay. The rough draft is due Tuesday (9/22), and the final is due Friday (9/25). Remember to have 2 adults read your essay!  We are also starting Beowulf this week, and will read the Prologue and Grendel.

We are continuing with the Post High School unit this week. We will read several articles about colleges, will do some pre-writing on a personal narrative about overcoming mistakes, and will go to the computer lab to explore the school's resources on getting ready to apply to colleges. You should have an SSR book chosen by Thursday (9/10). Finally, the paragraph on learning from a mistake will be due on Tuesday, 9/15. This should be typed in MLA formating
