We are finishing the short story unit with an in-class essay on Tuesday. The essay will be taken home to be polished up and typed, and will be due on Friday. We are also starting the Oedipus/Antigone unit with notes on Greek Theater. Near the end of the week, we will read Oedipus. We have vocab. this week--definitions due Wednesday and quiz on Friday.

We are finishing up with "The Pit and the Pendulum" and will read 1-2 more stories this week. The short story essay will be next week on Tuesday 9/20. We also have vocabulary this week--definitions due on Wednesday and quiz on Friday.

We will continue our short story unit, reading "Everyday Use" and "The Pit and the Pendulum" this week. Outlines will be completed for each story. We are also starting vocabulary this week--definitions are due on Wednesday, and the quiz is on Friday.

We will review writing, and will have a mini essay on Wednesday over Great Expectations. We will also start a short story unit, focusing on taking notes while reading, and organizing ideas for writing.
