This course covers the National Education Standards for United States Government, first semester, and Economics, second semester. Students are provided with an overview of the foundations of American Political System; civic life, politics and government; the Constitution and the purposes, values, and principles of American Democracy; and the roles of the citizen in American Democracy, first semester. Second semester, the key concepts of scarcity, cost and consumers; decision-making and cost-benefit analysis and profit; allocation of goods and services; and the role of incentives will be presented.
