Reflections

EDHS Reflections Participation and Awards Update
 
106 EDHS student artists answered the call and created original pieces of art based on the theme: "Accepting Imperfection."  The top 3 entries per art category were advanced to the PYLUC level of competition.
 
  • Dance Choreography – Nirali Benderra
  • Film Production – Joyce Chang, Wyatt Sheffield and Crissa Winger
  • Literature – Anisha Nangia and Taliah Van Winkle (2 entries)
  • Music Composition – Claire Ku
  • Photography – Cayden Chung, Gael Hernandez and Julia Wong
  • Visual Arts – Seylah Bae, Keoni Kapitan and Joshua Le
 
These artists will have their work on display at the PYLUC Reflections Showcase and awards will be given on March 24, 2025. See the attached invitation.
 
Meanwhile...
 
The top entries from each art category, in each grade division were advanced from the PYLUC Council level to the Fourth District level. EDHS had 4 student artists who represented PYLUC at the Fourth District. Entries were judged, and awards were given 1st 3rd at the Fourth District Gallery in Costa Mesa on February 1, 2025.
 
  • Joyce Chang received a 3rd place in Film Production
  • Anisha Nangia received an award of Participation
  • Claire Ku received a 3rd place in Music Composition
  • Julia Wong received a 3rd place in Photography
 
These four EDHS PYLUC Award of Excellence recipients will join 24 other Awardees, to represent the Reflections Art Program at the 28th annual ArtWorks, the district-wide exhibition of student art. held at the Nixon Library March 28 – April 28, 2025. The PTA/PTSA sponsored Reflections Art Program is being featured as an artistic opportunity in PYLUSD. See the attached poster.
