We are finishing Fahrenheit 451 this week--there is a quiz tomorrow on Part III and I will be checking annotations. We will also start an allusion project and the essay this week, and will be working on both in class Thursday and Friday.The allusion project will be due on Monday (1/25), and the essay will be due on Thursday (1/28).

We will continue with Fahrenheit 451 this week, reviewing part 2, and completing an in-class mini essay. The next set of pages is 115-131, which will be due on Friday (this is changed from the original reading schedule).

We are continuing with short stories, focusing on "Harrison Bergeron" this week. There will be another writing assignment with "Harrison" that will be due next Thursday. There will also be a final on the short stories next week as well. Be ready for Fahrenheit 451 coming up!

We are continuing with short stories, focusing on "The Sound of Thunder" and "The Pedestrian". The only homework will be finishing worksheets started in class.

We are continuing with short stories. This week, we will focus on "There Will Come Soft Rains" and "The Sound of Thunder" by Ray Bradbury. If there is homework, it will be finishing up work we started in class.

The Antigone essay is due on Friday, and should be typed in MLA format. There is a 5 point deduction for incorrect MLA format, so make sure to take the time to type it correctly! Also, we are starting a dystopian short story unit this week. We will watch a Twilight Zone episode, and read a short story called "By the Waters of Babylon."

We will finish Antigone with a final on Tuesday. On Wednesday, I will introduce the essay topic, and we will work on it in class Wednesday and Thursday. The final of the essay will be due next Wednesday (10/21) and should be typed in MLA format. Our next unit is a sci-fi short story unit, which will lead us into Fahrenheit 451.

We have finished Antigone, and will review this week to prepare for a final next week (probably Tues. 10/13). We will also work on analyzing the odes from the play, and writing a body paragraph (near the end of the week). Finally, students will be rewriting their Oedipus paragraphs--those are due on Wednesday 10/7.

We will continue with Antigone, reviewing the prologue and Scene 1, and finishing the worksheet on Scenes 2-3. Later in the week, we will read Scenes 4-5, and will analyze the odes.
