EDHS Mathematics Department Mission Statement

The El Dorado High School Department of Mathematics has a primary mission to prepare students to become problem solvers and critical thinkers in order to navigate and be successful in an ever changing society.

To support this mission, the EDHS Mathematics Department will align curriculum with State, District and NCTM Standards. Students will be engaged with lessons that differentiate according to student readiness, interest, and learning profile. The Mathematics Department will also collaborate to develop and analyze understanding of the concepts through common assessments.

The Mathematics Department will illustrate multiple concepts, and interdisciplinary connections with Science, History, Writing, Art, and Technology. Students will be challenged to develop skills in analysis, reasoning, creativity, collaborative learning, and self-expression as they gain knowledge of mathematics.
